  4. TCPIPtransport is mail and news transport for !Newsbase. News is sent
  5. and received via a connection to a specified NNTP host, and mail is
  6. transported via NFS. If this doesn't suit you, you can use SMTPD to
  7. fetch your mail instead.

  9. New to this release are: support for !Newsbase's mail control file
  10. format for outgoing mail, separate getmail and getnews commands replace
  11. the previous getinfiles command (useful for auto mail debatching, but
  12. manual news debatching), and a fix to the bug which prevented cc's going
  13. out (which no-one seems to have noticed :).

  15. TCPIPtransport has been extensively tested, and there are no major
  16. problems that I am aware of. It works with Newsbase 0.55-pre-10, but you
  17. have to hack the Newsbase sources slightly.  0.55-pre-11 should have
  18. this all sorted.

  23. This is an event driven RFC821 compliant SMTP daemon for RISC OS.
  24. Intended primarily for receiving mail from other sites, it doesn't as
  25. yet support mail forwarding or outgoing mail. It does allow mail for
  26. multiple users at a site to be received, and supports aliases and simple
  27. hostname authentication. SMTPD does not rely on the wimp for it's
  28. operation, so it runs in the background at all times,regardless of what
  29. you're doing with the machine.

  31. New to this release: finally fixed the output mail files, so that lines
  32. aren't CRLF terminated.  Also fixed a bug with the RSET command, which
  33. was causing considerable problems for some people.

  38. A companion module to SMTPD, this module fetches Usenet news from an
  39. NNTP server under events, ie it runs as a background task exactly like
  40. SMTPD. The chief advatanges of this are that you don't have to sit
  41. around watching the hourglass while your news is downloaded, and that it
  42. handles cross- posted articles correctly.

  44. An alpha version of this module works, but is a bit unstable. Xposted
  45. articles are handled OK, but no kill file support yet.

  50. Canned the http server, as there are plenty of those already. Just
  51. starting a RISCOS IRC client, as a joint venture.
